Purpose of the job

To support the business and HR through implementing the overall health strategy including all medical related services such as medical testing, incapacity case management, incident medical case management and also to provide an advisory role, through professional medical expertise as well as interpretation, rollout and monitoring compliance with relevant Petronas standards, including Management Control Framework in order to add value and actively contribute towards the achievement of business goals in accordance with legislation and organizational policies and procedures.

What you’ll have done before:

Baseline:

  • Undergraduate qualification MBChB or equivalent
  • Post graduate Diploma in Occupational Health recognized by the HPCSA.
  • Medical practitioner registered with the HPCSA.
  • 5 years in Occupational Health practice
  • Code EB driver’s license
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good computer skills

 

Advantageous:

  • 5 years’ experience in oil and gas environment
  • Good knowledge of South African Occupational Health related labour law
  • Proficiency in English, Afrikaans and at least one local African language

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the implementation of occupational health related policies, procedures and practices.
  • Conduct clinical assessments of employees as required.
  • Support the Occupational Health Team in fulfilling its role in supporting the Organization’s occupational health objectives.
  • Travel to various Engen sites as required from time to time
  • Attend meetings, respond to emails, and write reports as required
  • Create an atmosphere that ensures medical confidentiality and data integrity
