Purpose of the Job
Drive Fluidlink APM performance within mining and heavy industrial operations by managing the interface between Engen, Fluidlink customers, and third‑party service partners. Ensure maximum return on investment through reliability‑focused lubrication management, compliance with Engen and mining regulatory standards, and delivery of measurable plant performance improvements. Grow Fluidlink business through strategic upselling, technical value demonstration, and acquisition of new mining and industrial accounts.
What you have done before
Baseline:
- NQF Level 7 qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within mining operations, processing plants, smelters, or heavy industrial facilities
- Strong exposure to asset reliability, production-critical equipment, and plant lubrication system
Advantageous:
- Certified Tribologist / SAIT
- Certified Predictive Maintenance Strategies (vibration, thermography, lubrication condition monitoring)
- VE-CEM, VE-OCM, VE-VIP
- SAMTRAC or Mining Supervisory HSEQ qualification
- Total Fluid Management experience in mining or industrial sectors
- Sales & Marketing exposure in technical or engineering markets
- Knowledge of the Lubes Value Chain
- RCFA expertise for mining equipment failures
- 3rd Party Contractor Management experience (mining OEMs, field service teams)
What You Will Be Doing
Finance Management:
• Maximise return on investment through: KPI; management of the cost center budget allocated for each customer by controlling site expenses, managing income and consolidating account performance reports monthly.
• Ensure optimal utilization of assets by regular inspection and re-deployment to maximize return on investment and to minimize unnecessary expenditure
Business Process:
• Manage end‑to‑end lubrication and fluid management processes at mining operations, ensuring resourcing models support uptime and production targets.
• Conduct structured account reviews with service providers and mining stakeholders, ensuring corrective actions improve plant reliability.
• Evaluate all reliability improvement opportunities at customer sites—such as automation, contamination control, and condition monitoring—to increase uptime and profitability.
• Ensure strict adherence to Engen Fluidlink standards, mining regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure contracted fees and service deliverables align with mining customers’ credit terms and operational expectations.
Customer Management:
• Manage strong relationships with mine engineering, reliability, procurement, HSEQ, supply chain, and production teams to ensure alignment with SLA commitments.
• Ensure service providers meet mining‑specific SLA requirements, including equipment availability, response times, operational support, and safety compliance.
• Conduct customer satisfaction and operational improvement surveys to benchmark performance and drive collaborative improvements.
• Implement customized lubrication solutions that address mining challenges such as contamination, harsh conditions, uptime requirements, and heavy‑duty equipment performance.
Capability Management:
• Continuously develop your own technical and commercial capabilities by seeking feedback, closing gaps, and keeping up with mining reliability technologies and Engen Fluidlink service offerings
Business Development:
• Build and execute a targeted mining and industrial customer pipeline aligned to Engen’s volume growth targets.
• Support mining business development teams by conducting Value Improvement analyses, RCFA insights, and technical proposals for tenders.
• Position Fluidlink as a value‑adding reliability partner to mines by demonstrating cost savings, reduced unplanned downtime, and optimized lubrication practices

HSEQ Compliance:
• Ensure all Fluidlink activities on mine sites conform to strict mining HSEQ procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory frameworks.
• Conduct monthly HSEQ engagements with site teams and contractors to maintain compliance and readiness for customer audits.
• Ensure service provider adherence to mine HSEQ standards and drive timely audit finding close‑outs.
Working Condistions
- Requires regular travel to remote mining and industrial sites.
- Must be able to operate within challenging environments and comply with mine-specific induction, PPE, and safety requirements.
