Purpose of the Job:

To identify, develop and drive sustainable relationships and business opportunities at new Agriculture accounts tomaximize business and sales to ensure Engen presence and build a reputation & brand.

What You'll Have Done Before:

Baseline:

 

  • NQF Level 7 (Degree in Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Finance)
  • 8 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing environment
  • 3 years’ experience in Agriculture related segments
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with senior stakeholders within large Customers


Advantageous:

 

  • Knowledge of the Lubricants business
  • Previous Business Development experience

 

What You'll be Doing:

 

MARKET RESEARCH AND OPPORTUNITY IDENTIFICATION


• Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends and potential business opportunities.
• Analyze competitive landscape to understand market dynamics and identify gaps.
• Develop actionable insights and recommendations for entering new markets or expanding existing ones.


STRATEGIC PLANNING AND EXECUTION


• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth objectives.
• Maintain a healthy sector Pipeline.
• Utilization of C4C/tools to ensure Pipeline is recorded and updated for sector.
• Coordinate tender pre-evaluations to ensure tender readiness.
• Network with Key sector Role players and associations.
• Develop detailed stakeholder mapping at all targeted customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives, adjusting as needed.


SALES AND REVENUE GROWTH


• Drive sales initiatives to achieve revenue targets and business growth aligned with the overall Agriculturebusiness objectives on volume and C3.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate new markets and expand customer base.
• Track and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
• Contribute to the development of the agriculture customer pipeline together with the sales specialists and KAM.
• The Business development role will operate on the 90/10 principal with most of the focus on hunting vs farming.


PARTNERSHIP AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT


• Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and industry players.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients and partners to foster long-term collaborations.
• Negotiate and finalize business agreements to secure new business opportunities.
• Work closely with the respective sales specialists and Agriculture KAM (where applicable) and to ensure thatnew business is successfully transitioned.
• Play an integral role in identifying potential Agriculture tender business and working with the KAM and keycross divisional Lubricant stakeholders in developing the submission documentation.


INNOVATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT


• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to identify innovative business opportunities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas and approaches.
• Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance business development efforts

 

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel in RSA
  • Attendance at industry related conferences, exhibitions
  • Head Office visits of major Agriculture customers/co-operatives; site visits with sales specialists
