Transport Maintenance Manager Coastal

JOB PURPOSE

To manage the maintenance of the bulk delivery fleet in line with all company and statutory requirements and so doing reduce risk and enhance customer satisfaction activities.

Wentworth Workshop (Durban)

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS:

NQF Level 7 (Degree in Diesel Mechanics/ Mechanical Engineering)

EXPERIENCE:

5 years experience in transport workshop supervision/ operations and post trade test experience
Experience in Operations/ Distribution and Procurement Processes
Knowledge of Fuel Tanker Operations and ancillary equipment on tankers
Experience in SAP PM, MM and CO
Knowledge of OHS Act and HSEQ Policies 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work in maintenance environment
Ability to travel to the respective workshops

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

BUDGET & FORECAST MANAGEMENT

•    Determine project forecast for year ahead and ensure accurate budget indicators are available
•    Track and control monthly CAPEX/OPEX spend and manage cost control processes
•    Report on budget variances and authorized expenditure within LOA
•    Ensure monthly maintenance Management reports are submitted on time

PLANT & WORKSHOP OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

•    Ensure workshop performance and productivity is as per requirements and safety measures
•    Ensure that the workshop performance SLA's requirements are met
•    Ensure completion of planned maintenance is done effectively, within set standards and in line with schedules
•    Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues.
•    Utilize the necessary data available to apply preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
•    Ensure compliance with audit requirements in line with policies, procedures and statutory requirements
•    Conduct internal audits on admin departments
•    Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs and inspections.
•    Manage fleet rolling wheels, stock and respective tire reports
•    Manage parts stock in line with procurement strategies.
•    Adhere to all relevant processes and regulations (e.g. OHS Act, Licensing, Fire Permits, Certificate of Fitness, Trade Metrology, Road traffic Act, local government by-laws and vehicle maintenance planning)

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

•    Manage relations with service providers and customers and ensure contractor SLA's in place and adhered to
•    Engage internal customers and stakeholders on service/delivery needs
•    Engage and consult with all stakeholders to determine timelines
•    Ensure supplier data base management
•    Ensure adherence to procurement processes and that purchasing is in line with BEE strategy

HSEQ COMPLIANCE

•    Adhere and ensure compliance to HSEQ policies and procedures
•    Communicate HSEQ procedures to contractors and stakeholders
