Purpose of the Job

To manage the interface between the organization and industry-specific customers, in addition provide support in order to optimize opportunities sales and maximize growth potential in line with Commercial's plans

What you'll have done before

Baseline

• At least 5 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing of Chemicals
• NQF 7 (Degree in Science or Engineering) 
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Deep knowledge of Chemical manufacturing
• Experience working with Packaging, Rubber and Adhesive industry

 

Advantageous:
• 5 years’ experience as Technical sales specialist preferred
• Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate
ambiguity
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions
• Advanced business management skills or desire to acquire the same

• Applies knowledge in a challenging marketplace to advance the organisation’s
profitability goals
• Driving the profitability of Speciality Chemicals and Renewables
• Support all HSEQ initiatives and ensuring the adherence to relevant legislations, 
requirements, standards and practices to ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements.
• Developing of call plans to ensure efficient allocation of selling effort to 
maximize customer interaction across numerous types of customers.
• Provide marketing & technical support to customers

What you'll be doing

• Maintaining & Growing existing base business and sign off new business with agreed service level
• Building and developing customer relationships by implementing effective call cycles
• Regular monitoring of volumes and margins to maintain business plan profitability 
• Leading and championing HSEQ compliance in line with policies and procedures by supporting all HSEQ initiatives 
• Determining monthly forecast AND submitting to product management
• Managing credit (past dues, days sales outstanding within targets) and risks
• Addressing product quality problems, specifications and standards in order to minimize customer complaints.
