Purpose of the Job

To manage the interface between the organization and industry-specific customers through key customer retention focused business growth (existing and new) and by optimizing sales opportunities in order to add value to the business base.

What You Would Have Done:

QUALIFICATIONS
NQF Level 5 (Higher Certificate in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or relevant)

 

EXPERIENCE
3 years experience in Sales Coordination, Commercial Support or Client Service Role

Experience in related systems and tools

 

ADVANTAGEOUS
Experience in sales environment/ key accounts

Working Conditions:

Frequent travel nationally to all Truckstops Networks

Key Accountabilities:

STRATEGIC BUSINESS & FINANCIAL PLANNING
•    Provide critical input into business planning (volumes and margins) and work with Truckstop & Network Manager and sales specialists to ensure accurate forecasting for supply chain planning.
•    Monitor site performance against financial targets and proactively manage volumes, margins, and credit (DSO and past dues) to ensure profitability.
•    Assist Truckstop & Network Manager with administrative tasks of invoicing, rebate validation, pricing corrections, and credit controls to support healthy financial operations at the site level.


CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
•    Support the development of Truckstop value propositions to support growth and expansion 
•    Foster and sustain effective relationships with these customers directly and indirectly via the sales teams
•    Ensure monthly call plans are in place and regular business reviews planned with business owners
•    Build a rapport with key customers at a high and strategic level and manage day-to-day activities
•    Ensure contract management implemented, updated and maintained
•    Ensure branding compliance measures are developed, maintained and applied


MARKET INTELLIGENCE
•    Ensure controlled process of collecting marketing intelligence to achieve informed business decisions
•    Identify opportunities and threats and provide support to further develop the business profitability
•    Keep informed on industry trends, competitor offerings and market conditions
•    Monitor competitor activity and market trends to mitigate risks to market share and gather dealer insights for internal use.
•    Drive alternative profit opportunities, including healthy food offerings for truck drivers and other innovative retail initiatives


PROFITABILITY
•    Protect the base business and manage business performance in terms of individual targets and ensure business growth
•    Identify opportunities to maximise profitability
•    Assist Truckstop & Network Manager with optimization of return on investment (Capex and Opex management)


DEALER AND SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
•    Act as key liaison between the company and dealer network, supporting their business development, ensuring SLA compliance, resolving queries, and fostering long-term value-based partnerships.


HSEQ COMPLIANCE
•    Drive compliance with the dealer network by supporting the implementation of all applicable Engen HSEQ Guidelines and legislative requirements
•    Support the Truckstop & Network Manager with co-ordination of HSEQ compliance procedures required for the Truckstop network and communication and review of performance against the Compliance management procedures
•    Support implementation and co-ordination of HSEQ audits and checks to ensure compliance
•    Work closely with HSSEQ to implement assurance systems and conducting of Tiered Audits, closing out findings efficiently.


REPORTING
•    Generate regular reports on truckstop performance, volumes against forecasts, growth trends and identify declining volumes to manage risks
•    Use data to analyse trends and identify areas for improvement that informs and supports the strategy
