Job Purpose

 

Execute all operational aspects of all trading and shipping deals associated with the Bulk Procurement and supply (Seabound & Overland) of Petroleum and Chemical products to ensure efficient business operations

 

 

What you've done before

 

Minimum:

  • NQF Level 7 (Degree in Maritime Law, Import & Export Control/ Supply/ Logistics) or Grade 12 with 10 years’ experience in Trade and Supply Operations
  • 3 years in Trading, Shipping Supply/ Logistics Operations 

 

Advantageous:

  • 7 years O&G experience 
  • Aspect and SAP Experience  

 

 

What you'll be doing

 

Trading & Shipping Operations

  • Ensure that all bulk liquid cargo deliveries of the operations dept to be on-specification, on-time and in full and that operational procedures of the are in line with company policy
  • Ensure that the operational activities of the Operations Dept to meet international best HSEQ practice
  • Manage the volume Loss/Gain process
  • Reduce operational cost and find ways to optimize the operations.
  • Assist with the deviation management to reduce operational costs such as demurrage
  • Assist FinOps and Marine Operators with cargo clearances
  • Continuous reviews of supplier work scopes and costs (e.g, inspectors,) 

 

Trade Contract Execution

  • Ensure that operational activities meet the argeed terms in the Trade Contract and GTC’s
  • Enhancements to the Trading Contract/ Recap are proposed to the Trading Department and Management
  • Ensure nomination procedures are followed in the Trading deals
  • Tracking of term contract volume with trading teams
  • Optimisation of vessel volumes, to manage exposure and improve landed costs.

 

Charter Party Execution and Reporting & Data Integrity

  • All operational activities to meet the terms agreed in the shipping Charter Party
  • Enhance the Charter Party, to be proposed to the Shipping Department and Management
  • Produce value add operations reports for Management and internal stakeholders
  • Review and manage payments for approval to be in line with company LoA’s and procedures

 

Trading System Management & Reporting

  • Ensure all deals are captured timeously and accurately in the Trading system
  • Issues, non-conformance, deadline compliance to be reported to Management
  • Ensure that issues, non-conformance, deadline compliance are managed effectively
  • Ensure that operational entries are documented into the trading system
