Purpose of the Job

To manage international and local Supply & Wholesale commercial data, customer invoicing and trade positions for sales and purchases to ensure efficient business operations by ensuring all products, secondary income and costs are accounted for and providing management accounting information to meet the objectives of enhancing Engen's profitability. 

What you'll have done before:

Baseline:

  • NQF Level 7 (Degree in Commercial/ Finance or Accounting) 
  • 5 years experience in Accounting or Finance environment  
  • Experience and knowledge of ETRM system  

Advantageous:

  • Experience and knowledge of SAP system  

 

What you'll have done before:

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

  • Recording and settling of international and Local trades (Imports, Exports, Affiliates, Marine and third party, local buy/sell)  
  • Capturing of vendor invoices and scheduling of payments for Trading deals in line with relevant transfer documents and pricing terms 
  • Accurate accounting of applicable duties (import duty differential, customs & excise levies, duty at source) 
  • Timeous customer billings 
  • Debit/credit notes are prepared and sent to customers timeously 
  • Accurate weighted average costing per transaction and accurate cost transfer to Marketers division 

ACCOUNTING RECORDS

  • Prepare monthly debtors and creditors reconciliations 
  • Ensure credit management if / where applicable 
  • Monthly clearing of customer and vendor accounts, and GR/IR accounts 
  • Ensure reconciling items follow-up and clearing 
  • Ensure compliance with the audit process by ensuring all transactions are supported with relevant documentation 

TRADING DEALS

  • Provide necessary support to international trading deals by ensuring that the deals are captured accurately & timeously in the system for accurate weighted average costing in the system and accurate cost transfer to marketers division.

TREASURY SUPPORT

  • Ensure that all deals are appropriately hedged and included in the daily exposure reports submitted to Treasury.

COST CONTROL

  • Ensure proper finance management and cost control through effective & efficient management & deployment, track monthly departmental spend, manage cost control processes and report on budget variances.

REPORTING

  • Ensure accurate and relevant reports are prepared and submitted as per the agreed format and timelines as well prepare the ad hoc reports as and when required.

COMPLIANCE

  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and SLA's to ensure alignment with applicable governance and controls
